My Year 2016 Highlights

Reflecting back on this year I can't say anything other than wow. The past 12 months have been filled with a lot of laughter but also with tears. This will be a really long post and I wish I could make it even longer because so much has happened and I have so many photos I'd like to share, but I hope these photos speak for themselves. Let me tell you though! Narrowing down thousands of photos to ~10 is no easy task.
Wow what a rise of emotions it was going through all of my photos from the past 12 months. I broke down this year but that's what it took to truly find myself, peace and happiness. I wouldn't take anything back nor do anything differently. I've caught myself complaining a few times that I want my life to be more calm and consistent but to tell you the truth, routine bores me and I strive off crazyness.
You never know what's behind the corner so cherish every moment, forgive, love and appreciate your life and the people in it for nothing is set in stone nor permanent in this life. Things can change completely in a blink of an eye. I am so grateful for so many things, especially for my amazing friends.
This year I got really into living a healthy lifestyle and my body and mind has never felt better. Doing exercise is one of the few things in life that with absolute certainty you won't regret lol.
Oh my goodness! Say hi to Pamela! She's my friend's baby girl. We lived next to each other during the spring so I was her second mommy. Let me tell you though, this little ball of cuteness and love transformed to a monster during the day time. At my place she liked to play all kinds of games, such as running around sticking her tongue in all of my electricity sockets.
I visited some stunning places. Rome is such a beauty of true class. The history and architecture of the city is breathtaking.
I have never seen anything as beautiful and powerful as the Vatican. The energy I felt in there is quite something - my whole body was covered in goosebumps throughout the whole time.

Staying by the Bosphorus in Istanbul will make your soul rest. So damn beautiful. The Four Season's terrace is a must! The country's situation is really heartbreaking though... Luckily, I dodged the numerous attacks that happened around the same time I was there.
A beautiful dinner and night at the Ciragan Palace. I'll remember this night forever.
What better way to end the summer than by having some rosé @ Eden Roc in Antibes! This place is stunning.
And ofcourse last but not least I refound my love for makeup and blogging!
This year I've found some great products that have become staples in my collection and some really amazing products were launched. I'll be doing a 2016 beauty favorites posts.
The Huda Beauty palette was launched! This palette is just something else - worth the wait and it truly exceeded my expectations (a post is on its way!).
Thank you to you my readers for sticking with me and my shenanigans throughout the past year. I hope you all had an amazing Christmas with your loved ones and I wish you all health, wealth and happiness for the next year.

A kiss from Helsinki! xx

Glamorous Midnight Blue Smokey Eye

Blue is my favorite color and I think it's one of the most flattering colors to use on the eyes in a bold party makeup look. I've heard so many people say that blue is a difficult color to work with so let me prove you wrong here! It's actually really the only colorful eyeshadow I use that's out of the neutral-earth toned sphere and I love it! This is usually the look I go for if I'm going out clubbing.

MAC Pigments: Warm Snow, Silver Fog, Naval Blue, Blues

I used all of the pigments above for this look. I bought them from MAC's holiday collection last year but I'm sure they have very similar ones if not even the same product but under different names. Pigments are a tad more difficult and messier to work with so if you're not feeling that I'd suggest using eyeshadows. However, they do deliver a more intense and amplified finish, especially when used wet!

The last time I was at Inglot I laid my eyes on their beautiful blue and grey eyeshadows - I have to go back there asap and do some damage...
Dark makeup like this requires glamorous and dramatic false eyelashes! Ardell falsies are my favorite. Btw, I really hope there's no one out there paying more than a few euros for (Ardell) lashes. I've actually seen stores retailing them for almost 10€ in Finland and I rolled my eyes so hard that I almost saw my brain. I order all of mine from Madame Madeleine at $2.60 each and currently they're having a -20% discount on Ardell lashes by using the code SHOPNSAVE at checkout & -18% sitewide by using the code CELEBRATE. You're welcome, ladies! ;)

Here's my in-depth post on false eyelashes.

If you're a beginner in the lash world or you generally have difficulties with falsies, I'd recommend getting something with a clear and thin band rather than a thick band like the above. Thick bands can be more difficult to work with - even for me! However, these are so glamorous that it's worth it! One of my favorites and what I usually wear are the #105's because they're super easy to put on and work well with both day and evening looks.
MAC Angel

A baby pink lip paired with a blue smokey eye, MM-MM! My favorite combo! Pinks are blue based so that's why they look so good together. A neutral beigey glossy nude would also look good with this makeup.

Let me know what you think of this look! Does anyone else love a dark blue? Especially royal or electric blue as much as I do?!

Your Questions Answered Part 1 VIDEO

A couple weeks ago you all asked me a bunch of questions you'd like to know about me so here's my first set of answers! In this vid I talk about something I haven't ever talked about on my blog, embarassing moments, irritants, opinion on plastic surgery, alcohol usage, what I'm scared of etc.

Hope you're all having a lovely week,

A kiss from Tallinn! xx

My New Favorite INEXPENSIVE Everyday Foundation - Lumene Nude Perfection Fluid Foundation

Finally! A great (inexpensive) everyday foundation that's comparable to high end ones. It's perfect for everyday wear as its natural looking and of a lightweight consistency.
Lumene Nude Perfection Fluid Foundation
This is great for the dry winter climate as it's quite hydrating. However, it is not too hydrating to the point that someone with oily and/or combination skin wouldn't be able to wear it. I have oily skin myself and once I set it with powder it's perfect. It also still looks good at the end of the day. The consistency is of a watery one and the skin almost drinks it up. This results in it blending in very nicely and being barely visible on the skin. However, it does perfect the skin and do what we want a foundation to do! Pretty great right? Lumene anyway is one of my (if not my) favorite drugstore brand.

Fabulous Rainy Days

I wanted to share these rainboots that I have been loving (...didn't think I'd ever be saying that lol) with you guys before the temperature drops to the negative integers. So it's that time of the year again where pretty much all shoes worn outside will get ruined. I have never been a fan of rainboots until now! These ones by Prada are just so perfectly glamorous. They're super shiny and glossy - adds that perfect extra oomph to a dull and rainy day.
These babies can be ordered from Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus. The only downfall with rainboots naturally is that you can't wear them for long as they will get uncomfortable since they don't breathe.
Recently I've been so into glossy blacks and dark blues. Usually I'm all about the whites, nudes and pinks but now I just can't get enough of black. What do you think of these nails? I love this color. I actually just did a makeup look using dark blues aswell and it turned out great - one of my favorite looks for sure! I'll be posting it soon. Next I'm posting a video on my TOP 10 makeup products so stay tuned for that ;)

Let's hope for some beautiful white snow!

Have a lovely weekend beauties xx
