ALL ABOUT FALSE EYELASHES & Where to Purchase Them for Dirt Cheap!

False eyelashes are very powerful and make a huge difference. They beautify and add femininity to any look, along with transforming it to the better. If you're anything like me and you're not blessed with luscious long and thick lashes, falsies are going to be your best friend! In this post I'm going to tell you all you need to know about them and they're usage. Also, I'll be revealing where I buy mine for ridiculously cheap.

I didn't use to use false eyelashes simply because they intimidated me and it was such a pain in the butt attempting to get them on and most importantly... having them stay on! However, now I could not imagine a glamorous look without them.

I remember the struggle though - it's real! And I can tell you there's no way around it, you've just got to practice. However, these tips that I'll be sharing, make it a lot easier. Below are the tools you're going to need. I'll start off by telling you where to purchase these babies!

My favorite brand of lashes is Ardell. I've been purchasing them for years now from Madame Madeline. On this website they retail at a very low price, at $2.60 a pair when 2+ are purchased. Shipping is also cheap, the delivery is fast and their customer service is great. Madame Madeline sells a lot of big names at very affordable prices. This is amazing because around here it's a lot more expensive... I've actually paid almost $10 for an Ardell pair. Ouch!

Also, by using the code MUA11 at check out you get an additional -11% off your entire order! All of the lashes mentioned in this post can be purchased at Madame Madeline.

1. Scissors - Odds are that the eyelash isn't going to fit your eye shape. Place it on your eyelid to see if it does and if it's too long, cut a bit off from the outer corners untill it fits your eyeshape. Do not ever cut them from the inner corners, as this will make the eyelash appear very unnatural, since the inner hairs are shorter than the rest.

2. Eyelash Glue - It's very important to have good quality glue... You don't want your eyelashes falling off. DUO is my favorite. Apply a thin layer of glue onto the band and let it dry for about 45 seconds, or until you can see that it's partly dry and sticky. If you were to instantly place it on the eye, the glue would be too wet to adhere onto anything and it would just slide around. I like using the Dark-Tone one since I always wear eyeliner and this dries black. The clear one is great for looks without eyeliner, as it dries clear.

3. Tweezers - Applying lashes with tweezers is A LOT easier than with hands since the hand will partly block your view. Grab the lashes from the middle and place them onto the center of the eyelid, as close to the lashline as possible. The closer it is to the lashline, the better it will look. After it's been placed and adhered onto the center, place the outer and inner corners in. Yep. Easier said than done. The only way to master this is to seriously practice. Mascara can be applied before or after. Applying mascara afterwards makes the application easier since you have full view of your lashline during the application, but it'll lower the lifetime of your falsies. Some of my eyelashes have lasted up to 10 times - just remember to always pick the glue off the band.

4. Toothpick - If the lashes pop off from either of the corners, just add some glue onto a toothpick and go back in there to glue it back on. I always carry glue and a toothpick with me when I'm out.

This is my favorite bunch - as you've probably noticed if you've been following my blog. I personally prefer long lashes over thick ones, as this looks more natural. The Demi Wispies and #105 are more natural looking and daytime appropriate, whereas the #47 and #119 are more suitable for a glamorous evening look.

The Demi Wispies are also great for mature women. I've used them on older clients, including my mother, and it has always looked flattering. On mature eyes, it's always important to remember that less is more.

Lashes with a clear band, like the Demi Wispies and #119, are a lot easier to use than ones with a thick black band. I'd highly recommend these for beginners. Also, if the lash seems to be stiff, don't be afraid to wiggle it around in different directions to make it more flexible and molded for the eye.

Now these are some glamorous falsies! My recent favorite has been this stunning pair by Katy Perry. I love how it becomes more voluminous towards the end and flairs out, giving an intense cat-eye effect. I'm wearing them on the image below (and in all the other pictures in this post)!

Recently the spiky-lash-look has been on trend due to Kylie Jenner exploding the internet with her makeup looks! These are perfect for the summer.

Itselläni on juuri sellaiset oliivinvihreän väriset silmät ja pitkään olen miettinyt, että miten ihmeessä saisin korostettua silmiä nätisti.. Jos laitan liikaa vaaleanpunaisen sävyä, niin tuppaa silmät näyttämään kamalan itkuisilta ja tarkoitus olisi saada ylppäreihin nätti silmämeikki, joten kaipaisin todella neuvojasi :)

  5. Hei, pystytkö suosittelemaan klassista luomiväripalettia, jossa olisi hyvä pigmentti, pysyvyys, hinta-laatusuhde ja sen saisi ostettua suomesta? Esimerkiksi maybellinen the nudes luomiväripalettiin on tullut kivat sävyt, mutta mitenhän on pysyvyys ns. "markettimeikeissä"?

    1. Moikka!
